GameStop will offer a King Leonidas costume from the film 300 as a pre-order bonus for God of War: Ascension. As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the costume will be available in Ascension’s multiplayer for players who pre-order Ascension’s standard or Collector’s Edition.

After pre-ordering, players will receive a code to redeem that will recreate the character played by Gerard Butler in the 2006 film. GameStop customers will also receive a 22 inch by 28 inch double-sided God of War: Ascension poster.

“We are very excited to partner with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment to offer you the chance to play as one of the biggest badasses in Greek history on the God of War: Ascension multiplayer battlefield,” wrote SCEA product marketing manager Anthony Caiazzo. “Donning King Leonidas’s red cape, iconic helmet, and armor you will stand apart as one of the ultimate warriors of Sparta. King Leonidas also comes with his iconic spear, which has its own set of unique combat moves.”

God of War: Ascension is set to hit stores on March 12, 2013. Earlier this week, Sony announced that you can earn experience for the game right now by playing a social game. For more on what’s new in Ascension, read all about the game’s new multiplayer mode.
