Hollywood's Magic Castle Summons a Movie Deal

Hollywood's Magic Castle, the famed magicians night club, will soon get its own feature film via Ted Field's Radar Pictures and 20th Century Fox.

Built in 1909, the historic mansion on Franklin Avenue serves as the headquarters of the nonprofit Academy of Magical Arts Inc. and offers a private space for renowned magicians to perform. Celebs who have performed at the exclusive nightclub include Cary Grant, Steve Martin, Johnny Carson and Neil Patrick Harris, who is the current president of the Academy of Magical Arts.

With its many chateau-style stages and corridors and old-fashioned decor, the Magic Castle certainly looks the part of an eerie Hollywood movie set -- a perfect fit for Field, who has produced many films featuring the supernatural and bizarre (The Amityville Horror, Arachnophobia and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).

"We are excited about the future of the Magic Castle brand as represented by CAA, and we look forward to the expansion of the brand through the extensive network of the individuals and companies they represent," Magic Castle co-founder Milt Larsen told The Hollywood Reporter.

Now repped by CAA, the Magic Castle will begin expanding its marketing opportunities to outlets such as television, film, live events, video games, digital media and merchandising.
