Team Meat's New Game Involves Mutant Cats

Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat has announced it's new game is called Mew-Genics.

The game was announced by Edmund McMillen, one half of Team Meat, on his blog. Details of how the game will play or when it will be released have yet to be nailed down, but according to McMillen, "the game will be randomly generated, strange and involve cats." So really at this stage what more do you need to know?

Furthermore, McMillen says that "Mew-Genics is by far the strangest project I've ever worked on... and that's saying something."

Earlier this year, Team Meat announced that Super Meat Boy would be coming to iOS devices in the shape of an original title, tailored for touch controls. But it seems that project has been put on ice while Team Meat work on their new title. "Tommy [Refenes] and I are very happy with how development has been going on it and decided that Mew-Genics will be the next official Team Meat game," writes McMillen.

The duo have placed their in-progress PC and iOS Super Meat Boy title "on hold" while work on Mew-Genics is completed.
