Black Ops 2 Sells 1 Million at GameStop Midnight Launches

♦ by Unknown Wednesday, 14 November 2012

More than one million copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II were sold at GameStop midnight launches. According to GameStop president Tony Bartel, “GameStop sold more than 1 million units worldwide during our midnight launch period,” which means Black Ops II “is shaping up to be our biggest game launch of all time.”

The number isn’t necessarily surprising since Bartel previously confirmed that Black Ops II had the highest pre-orders in history at GameStop. We’ll likely hear much more about Call of Duty sales in the coming weeks, including a more specific amount of units sold.

For reference, last year’s Modern Warfare 3 sold 6.5 million copies during its first 24 hours on sale.
