CompLexity Tries to Ascend to IPTL Premier Division Over Prime!

♦ by Unknown Monday 12 November 2012

Up and Down Matches are what many people have been waiting for since IPTL Season 1 has started. So far, Karont3 e-Sports Club took a w/o against SlayerS who were disbanded just few weeks ago and Team Liquid made a strong statement by winning 5 -3 against New Star HoSeo.

That was the upper-bracket of the first round of Up and Down games. Now it’s time for the lower bracket where Prime meet compLexity Gaming and Team SCV Life play against FXOpen e-Sports.

Prime line-up: ByuN (T), Creator (P), MarineKing (T), Maru (T), Salmosa (Z), Terius aka BumbleBee (Z), AriA (Z), Classic (P), Lucy (P)

compLexity Gaming line-up: GanZi (T), goswser (Z), Heart (T), Minigun (P), qxc (T), Ryan (P), Ryze (Z), Sasquatch (Z), TriMaster (T)

Potential starter

Prime: ByuN (T)

Although in Prime’s Premier Division group ByuN has never appeared as the starting player, he did so in Prime’s last GSTL match against fnatic, where he was not only the opening pick, but he managed to take out three players of fnatic’s roster before losing to Byul in the fourth set after failing an 11/11 proxy rax build. Because of that GSTL performance it looks like Prime is getting back on track and by adding BumbleBee back to their line-up it looks like compLexity Gaming might be having a hard time against this Korean power house.

compLexity Gaming: TriMaster (T)

He opened both compLexity’s games against FXOpen e-Sports and Team Acer. Having a 50% winning rate as the starting player it looks like Niven is going to be the opening player against Prime as well. Even if he won’t win, coL isn’t losing much as TriMaster is definitely not their top pick at the moment.

Key player

Prime: BumbleBee (Z)

We haven’t seen him play in IPTL group stage, but it is more than possible that Prime will pick him against compLexity. Terius has been away from competitive gaming for a while. According to some he left Prime before returning some time ago; however, this has not been confirmed. What we know for sure is that he participated in multiple online cups while being unavailable for the team matches. Now he’s back with full force defeating aLive in very one sided game. Prime is looking strong again.

compLexity Gaming: GanZi (T), Heart (T)

Two best players on coL’s roster look strong on paper, but have been an upset in IPTL. Although many people see them as the ace players for the American team that is far from truth at the moment.  Are they going to lead compLexity Gaming towards victory against Prime? Highly doubtful, but they at least could try to make a good show in this match.

Ace player

Prime: BumbleBee (Z)

He is back, ladies and gentlemen! We all probably remember his Code A games, which were widely discussed on many forums and reddit. Now, after taking down aLive in Prime’s latest GSTL match where he was called the MVP of the day, he is ready to step up for his team once again. He was on the roster back in March 2012 when Prime were celebrating their victory in IPL Team Arena Challenge 2. Are we going to see him celebrate receiving  second Premier Division seed in IPTL’s second season?

compLexity Gaming: goswser (Z)

He was more of a one hit wonder when back in 2011 during MLG Orlando he defeated Polt in the open bracket. Since then he hasn’t achieved much besides winning the MSI Pro Cup WW: American Qualifier just a week ago where he took down Scarlett  3-2 in the finals and devastating Team Acer in IPTL Contender Division group stage one week prior to his MSI Pro Cup victory leaving everybody dumbfounded after beating Bly, DarkHydra, Nerchio and Scarlett securing second place for compLexity Gaming in their group stage and allowing them to play in the Up and Down Matches.

Nobody was expecting Team Acer to lose in this match, but it happened thanks to this relatively unknown player who got promoted from coL’s Academy to their A team one year ago. If there is someone on coL’s line-up who is close to stopping the Koreans from stomping the Americans into the ground it is definitely goswser.

Prediction

Prime 5 > compLexity Gaming 3

Even if goswser, GanZi and Heart will perform on top of their game it is still not even a close match. Prime will take this hands down; they could even go for an all-kill with BumbleBee who’s clearly back in shape right now. Tune in to IPL stream to watch this game and more of IPTL and Fight Club.
