Good Universe and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi are teaming up to produce a feature adaptation of Angelfall, based on the post-apocalyptic young adult book.

Raimi and his producing partner Rob Tapert have also picked up the movie rights to the entire Penryn & the End of Days book series, of which Angelfall is the first installment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story place "weeks after angels of the apocalypse wreak revenge against mankind for the killing of Archangel Gabriel. When 17-year-old Penryn fails to escort her mother and wheelchair-bound sister to safety, she teams with a handsome young angel with clipped wings, braving evil seraphs, human gangs and cannibals in a quest to find her sister."

Raimi will produce the film, with Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane exec-producing.
